Today the Jailbreak Dream Team
 (@pimskeks@iOPK@pod2g@p0sixninja , and @planetbeing ) has come out with the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 for all devices except for AT2, AT3 and iPad 2,4.

The tool use for this Untethered is call Absinthe 2.0 2.0.1 since last Untethered 5.0.1 was called Absinthe, it make sense. This tool can be downloaded in the following links: Absinthe for Mac , Absinthe for Win and Absinthe for Linux . They all can be found at www.greenpois0n.com . This is an easy tool to use; (If you need to preserve your BB please use the option with RedSn0w below or wait for another alternative)

Absinthe 2.0.1 (Very simple tool, Just hit Jailbreak and Done)
  1. Always make a backup of your iDevice and if not in 5.1.1 update thru iTunes.
  2. if already tethered in 5.1.1, just go to Cydia and download the package call "Rocky Rocoon Untethered 5.1.1" and your are done. If not tethered in 5.1.1 follow case number 3.
  3. if not tethered in 5.1.1 then Go to Settings, General, Reset and press on Erase All Content and Setting (WARNING: This will erase all your data, if you haven't backup then do it before going forward)
  4. After the Reset, Open Absinthe and press on the Jailbreak button. This may take a while but leave it till it finished.
  5. You now should have Cydia on your iDevice after the process is done.
Note: If this doesn't work, try restoring your iDevice to Factory Settings and try the process above again. If after trying the Factory setting option you still haven't been successful with your jailbreak then follow steps below.

RedSn0w
If not happy with Absinthe 2.0 or 2.0.1 there is another way to go. First you need to download Redsn0w 0.9.11.b4 here . This also can be found in the iPhone Dev Team website; Dev Team. After you have downloaded Redsn0w follow the steps below;

  1. Backup your device (just a precautionary thing).
  2. Open Redsn0w and Click on Jailbreak (follow their guidances).
  3. After a while your iDevice will reboot but you still need to boot your iDevice with the Just Boot option located in the Extra link.
  4. So go back and Click on Extra and then Click on Just Boot (follow up and your iDevice should now be tethered in 5.1.1)
  5. After that you just need to go to Cydia and search for "Rocky Rocoon Untethered 5.1.1" and install it. You are done after the iDevice boots again.

Update 1: Out of the 3 iDevices left out by Absinthe 2.0 at least the AT2 works now since Seas0npass has come with a new update thanks to @pod2g and @nitoTV for a Untethered AT2 on 5.1.1. You may want to go to their website where they have the links for the tools and a quick tutorial on how to do it. Seas0npass
